Dunno if it's helpful but people on the fence maybe should be referred to those "find {your social security number, your birthday, etc.} in the digits of pi" sites. Pi isn't exactly accumulating information as time goes on.

Also, it seems like they are trying to apply principles that appeared first when theorists were attacking the Maxwell's Demon thought- experiment, yet pushing the opposite conclusion.

There also seems to me to be an implication that the drunk is showing purpose as the radius of his walk expands by the square root of t, fairly uniformly.

I think they regard information as being the opposite of randomity and entropy, which is why I point to the pi sites. There's nothing wrong with the information being in the selecting environment to a degree.
